1 - Upgrade your morning routine

In the morning, consistency is key. To keep your internal clock balanced and your circadian rhythm stabilized, try waking up at the same time every day. Pick a time for your M-F alarm that also works for Saturday and Sunday. And treat yourself to an elevated shower. It’s time to throw away the drug store body wash and graduate to a 100% vegan, paraben and sulfate-free formula. We have an idea: our Jumbo Body Wash. It’s even easier to stay consistent with our auto delivery service.

2 - Find your natural light

Remember when your parents told you to play outside? It’s because sunlight is crucial for your health (and because they didn’t want to hear you and your friends scream at Mario Kart anymore). When you can’t get outside in the chilly months, move your work station close to a window to maximize those sunrays. And if you can’t get near a window, you may want to invest in a supercharged therapy light, proven to boost your mood and productivity.

3 - Less berries & cream, more berries & nuts

Cut out the refined sugars and replace them with natural ones. Adding more high fiber berries to your diet can help you lose weight and lower your risk for heart disease, while nuts like walnuts can help reduce LDL, the “bad” cholesterol. For some Vitamin C, try bright winter citrus in a salad for a fresh seasonal lunch. Vitamin C keeps your skin looking young and healthy.

4 - Hydrate, moisturize, repeat

We all know hydration starts from the inside out, so whether you want to use a water tracking app, or keep a mental tally, make sure you’re drinking an adequate amount of water: about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) a day for men, 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) a day for women, and 65 cups a day if you’re the Hulk (just guessing). And to keep your skin as healthy as possible, add on a face moisturizer. Moisturizing everyday reduces dry and/or oily skin and helps prevent skin conditions like acne. These harsh winter months tend not to be the friendliest on your skin. Show it some love and you’ll reap the benefits.

5 - Get off your phone

With more and more people deleting social media apps, it’s clear we need to devote less time staring at the little screens in our hands and more to productive pastimes. Instead of scrolling through TikTok, take a stroll outside, learn to pickle onions, or get into comic books. Anything to shake up the mindless habit of scanning Twitter hashtags. If you want, download an app that helps track your screen time, holding yourself accountable. If you’re feeling really dangerous, go for a walk outside (see bullet #2) *and* leave your phone at home. The podcast can wait. Enjoy the great (chilly) outdoors.

Let us know if you’re crushing one of these resolutions; we need a little motivation or maybe we just need a little more sun. Either way, here’s to 2022!
